Since all we do here is post about comedian deaths, here’s another.
Bill Hicks died 20 years ago today. He started doing comedy when he was 16 (if you needed a reason to feel bad about yourself for not being motivated) and died 16 years later at age 32 of pancreatic cancer.
He is known for elevating comedy beyond telling jokes and turning it into social commentary/philosophy hybrid that came off as profound without veering into pretension.
The comedy world would certainly have been a more interesting place with Hicks still in it.
